This Mara short safari begins and ends in Nairobi. Masai mara national reserve houses over 95 mammal species such as wildebeests, gazelles, elephants, lions, buffaloes zebras, antelopes, and many more. Masai Mara National Park is located in the south of Kenya along the border of Tanzania and is adjacent to the neighboring Serengeti National Park. The park is named in honor of the indigenous people of the Maasai community. Masai Mara National Park occupies an area of 580 square miles. It represents the northernmost section of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. The Mara River, Sand River, and Talek River are the premier rivers draining waters of the park. The Masai Mara is famous for its variety of larger plains species inclusive of predators.

Itinary in details

  • Day1
    Today you will be picked from your hotel or at the airport in Nairobi after an early morning breakfast; your safari guide will brief you about your safari and later embark on your transfer to Masai mara national reserve which is approximately 6 hours’ drive along Nairobi- Nakuru highway. Upon arrival at the park, you will check-in at your lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon you will go for the game drive. Masai mara national reserve is among the eighth wonders of the world and habitat to many wildlife species such as wildebeests, buffalos, zebras, gazelles, antelopes, and many more. As you drive through the park you will enjoy sighting these animals through the savannah grassland, after the game drive, you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight stay.

  • Day2
    Immediately after your early morning breakfast and head out to the park for a hot air balloon with your picnic packed lunch, hot air balloon experience is a great chance for enjoying eye views of animals in the savanna plains of Masai mara national reserve and if you are lucky enough you enjoy getting an Ariel view of the river crossing of wildebeests cross mara river. This activity takes approximately 2-3 hours and at lunch, you are to have a picnic lunch in the bush of Masai mara reserve and in the afternoon you will have a game drive in the plains of the park where you will see many animals such as wildebeests, lions, leopards, rhinos, gazelles, antelopes, hartebeests among other. Then after the game drive, you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner, and have an overnight stay.

  • Day3
    Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast, check out of your lodge, and drive to the savanna plains of Serengeti national park for an early morning game drive where you anticipate seeing many animals in large numbers around Mara River inclusive of thousands of wildebeests. After the game drive, you will exit the park and transfer back to Nairobi, along the way you will make a stopover in Narok town for lunch and upon arrival in Nairobi, you will either be dropped off at your hotel or be transferred to the airport for departure thus the end of your 3 days safari.
